  • Honest about both positives and negatives
  • Written in a respectful, constructive tone
  • Mentions what type of visit it was (date, business meeting, family dinner, etc.)
  • Includes helpful context like price range, busy times, or accessibility

❌ What We Don't Allow

  • Reviews for places you haven't actually visited
  • Reviews written by business owners about their own establishment
  • Reviews clearly intended to harm a competitor
  • Reviews focused on a single bad employee rather than the overall experience
  • Reviews that are mainly about personal disputes or non-business issues
  • Copy-pasted reviews or reviews clearly written by someone else

Photo Sharing Guidelines

✅ Great Photos Show

  • The food, products, or services the place offers
  • The atmosphere, interior, or exterior of the location
  • Menus, price lists, or signage (when helpful)
  • Clear, well-lit images that accurately represent your experience

❌ Don't Post Photos That

  • Show other customers without their clear consent
  • Include offensive gestures, inappropriate content, or illegal activities
  • Were taken from other websites, social media, or promotional materials
  • Are blurry, dark, or don't actually show the place you're reviewing
  • Focus on personal items (your car, your outfit, unrelated objects)
  • Violate the privacy or safety of staff or other customers

Respectful Communication

whereto.ph is for everyone. When writing reviews or interacting with others:

  • Be respectful, even when sharing negative experiences
  • Focus on the business and your experience, not personal attacks on staff
  • Avoid discriminatory language based on race, religion, gender, or other personal characteristics
  • Don't use offensive language, threats, or harassment
  • Remember there are real people behind every business and review

Points and Levels: Playing Fair

Earn Points the Right Way

  • Write genuine reviews based on real visits
  • Add new places that aren't already listed
  • Upload helpful, original photos
  • Keep your contributions accurate and up-to-date
  • Participate actively and constructively in the community

Don't Game the System

  • Creating multiple accounts to boost your points or reviews
  • Writing fake reviews just to earn points
  • Asking friends or paying people to leave reviews
  • Coordinating with businesses to manipulate ratings
  • Adding fake or duplicate listings

Consequence: Gaming the system can result in points being removed, account restrictions, or permanent bans.

Prohibited Content and Behavior

The following are not allowed anywhere on whereto.ph:

  • Spam: Irrelevant links, promotional content, or repetitive posts
  • Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else, including business owners
  • Private information: Sharing personal details of others without consent
  • Illegal content: Anything that violates Philippine law
  • Commercial solicitation: Using reviews to advertise your own business
  • Manipulation: Coordinating fake reviews or attempting to skew ratings
  • Harassment: Targeting individuals or businesses with abusive behavior

How We Enforce These Guidelines
